We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Engineer, Systems (PLM Systems Engineer) to be part of the PLM Center of Excellence team reporting to the Digital Thread Engineering department Section in the Science and Engineering organization at our Promontory, UT offices . Responsible for NGIS strategy regarding engineering processes and engineering tools with a focus on model based engineering, including model-based systems engineering, model based design, model based manufacturing, and design for manufacturing. Works with the manufacturing customers to showcase and support new products and process. Works with all of the NGIS engineering sites to encourage sector alignment. Benchmarks other NGC sectors as well as external companies to keep aligned with industry process and practices. Attends and participates in supplier and internal conferences to keep a strategic sense of development direction in industry as well as changes within NGIS. Literacy of the tools that are being used in manufacturing and works to improve the tools and process to increase efficiency.
Some travel is required to support various sites, benchmark meetings and conferencing efforts.
Support lean initiatives across the enterprise for rapid product development, digital manufacturing and quality improvements utilizing industry best practices
Administer and support PLM Systems focused on manufacturing for all NGIS sites
Support and lead where applicable the integration of disparate shop floor instructions, tools, and processes into a common digital tool with an accompanying supported process.
Interface in a key role with the NG Enterprise Services (Corp IT) programming and services team to develop manufacturing solutions that are integrated with ERP/EVMS/MRP/SFMS systems.
Develop Manufacturing Workflows, Define Preferences and Conditions, Administer system access and roles
Install, configure, and maintain required software components in accordance with change control procedures.
Coordinate upgrades and patches with multi-functional project teams, including execution of functional testing, preparation and maintenance of system documentation, and deployment in production environment.
Support/Direct Local Site Administrators
Provide user support via Tier 2 Help Desk calls, problem reports, and approved software changes
Project Manager for new implementations, migrations and process/method changes
Develop and administer user training including media and documentation
Support the PLM strategy team and Digital Thread Engineering organization leadership in the creation and execution of strategic roadmaps for deployment of PLM, the transition to TcUA, and promote changes necessary to expand the digital thread
Present at internal and external conferences
Engage withfunctional managers, program managers, product teams, and individuals to ensurePLM tools and processes are in place ensuring that delivered products are correct andaccurate
Skills and Qualifications:
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, planning, and execution
Experience with or demonstrated ability to learn to learn manufacturing planning tools and processes (ESI, Teamcenter Manufacturing Process Planner, Solumina, or Windchill MPMLink)
Experience with or demonstrated ability to learn how to administer a PLM system (Teamcenter is preferred, Windchill or Enovia is acceptable)
Skilled at developing work flows, processes, standard work, and command media with a strategic focus on the big picture
Excellent interpersonal skills particularly with manufacturing customers including process engineers, quality engineers, operators and operations leadership Good interpersonal skills
Change agent and strategic thinker
Demonstrated aptitude for solving problems with long range vision
Understanding of engineering application software and programming methods and languages (C++, C#, or VB)
Aptitude and ability to work with commercial-off the shelf (COTS) software and software suppliers to influence out of the box behavior

Effective communicator skilled at collaborating with others to get work done and manage conflicting priorities
Ability to execute customer demands and resolve customer concerns in the short-term while effectively creating and executing to a future business vision
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS or MS in a science or engineering discipline
Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a BS degree or 7 years of experience with a MS degree
Ability to travel up to 10%
Experience Preferred :
Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Siemens Teamcenter Enterprise and Teamcenter Unified administration and/or development.
Computer applications programming and/or administration
Application software testing and deployment
User application software support and user training
Knowledge of PLM systems or other application software related experience
Engineering configuration management
Security Clearance and Security Plus training certificate
