Northrop Grumman is looking for a PROJECT ENGINEER in Clearfield, Utah
Successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Orion, C30XL, and LAS IPT teams in developing, defining, and improving processes and products as measured by customer satisfaction, safe execution, process improvements, quality consistency, and design compliance.
Lead the program IPT teams for rocket motor and igniter fabrication
Work closely with all member of the IPT team which include but are not limited to: Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Tooling, Materials, Scheduling, Facilities, Maintenance, Operations; ensuring all requirements are met for the products being fabricated.
Interface regularly with local program office and customer at Propulsion Systems and Launch Vehicle Groups
Support program office monthly SIT meetinggs.
Member of the Material Review Board (MRB) for the described programs
Support proposal efforts for extension of existing program contracts and seeking new business awards
Mentor and train new engineers as they are hired onto the engineering team.
Experience working with current Orion, C30XL, and LAS customers (PS and LV)
Excellent problem solving skills are a must
Thorough knowledge and experience in the case manufacturing processes of
Rubber Molding, Wound Elastomeric Insulators, Filament Winding, Cure, Machining, and Testing
Knowledge of configuration management best practices
Excellent communication and technical presentation skills
Knowledge of both the engineering and quality sides of Material Review Board (MRB)
Detailed understanding of process control through SPC process monitoring techniques
Working knowledge of root cause and corrective action (RCCA) techniques (KT, 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree)
Working knowledge of PFMEA and other advanced quality improvement tools
Ability to effectively maneuver through political situations and anticipate roadblocks
This position can be hired at the Principal Level with a BS Degree in Engineer and 5 Years of Experience or a Senior Principal Level with 9 Years and BS Degree in Engineering
