Iron Rock Engineering, Surveying and Design Civil Engineer in KANAB, Utah

Typical Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: andbull; Prepare complete quality construction ready plans for residential, commercial and municipal public works projects that include Site Plans, Dimensional Plans, Grading Plans, Drainage Plans, Utility Plans, Plans and Profiles, Details and Exhibits using Civil 3D. andbull; Read and follow CAD Standards and Operating Procedures in order to implement them in daily assignments to maintain uniformity in work products. andbull; Perform basic mathematical calculations (example: volume calculations, pipe slopes, areas, etc.) andbull; Organize, direct and conduct preliminary review of the requirements for the design of projects such as zoning and local design standards, existing utility information, topo, etc. andbull; Process survey data to create existing surfaces. andbull; Create alignments and profiles in order to create corridors, proposed surfaces and cross sections. andbull; Coordinate grading of site in order to achieve an earthwork balance. andbull; Prepare cost and quantity estimates for projects. (Microsoft Excel proficiency) andbull; Design and size pipe networks including water, drainage, and sewer systems. andbull; Review and check plans for accuracy. andbull; Prepare project specifications. (Microsoft Word proficiency) andbull; Review jurisdictional and client comments and make revisions as appropriate. andbull; Assist as a contact for the client concerning design aspects of the project. andbull; Prepare staking survey points for construction staking. andbull; Plot legal descriptions for parcels, easements, and rights of way andbull; Work efficiently with minimal supervision, and serve as a mentor to more junior designers and technicians. andbull; Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with occasional advice and support from a Project Manager and/or Engineers. Applicants must have successfully graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have 2+ years of civil land development experience; experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat software; strong written and verbal communication skills; must be strongly proficient with Civil 3D AutoCAD software; must be able to demonstrate Civil 3D drafting work experience in civil land development projects such as residential, commercial, and municipal public works projects; additional CAD experience in Revit or AutoCAD Architecture is a plus; must be detail oriented; must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employee sponsorship and/or Visa transfer; must have U.S. citizenship or Green Card; all candidates must possess a valid driver's license, undergo a background check, and pass drug and alcohol screening.
