JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Responsible for assembly operations at the plant to ensure assigned production lines produce a product that meets customer quality and delivery requirements. Directly oversees all personnel in assigned area. Observes, promotes and ensures compliance of all rules and policies maintained by the company (safety, continuous improvement, leadership, core values).

Essential Functions

  • Operations - Ensure product is produced and delivered on time. Ensure assigned lines receive materials on time. Troubleshoot and minimize downtime issues on line as they arise. Directly responsible for production flow of assigned lines.

  • Leadership - Responsible for assigned teams in the areas of operations, safety, continuous improvement and professional development. Directly supervises assigned employees.

  • Administration - Complete and submit organizational paperwork to include days off requests, employee evaluations, corrective actions, and various reports and checklists.

  • Quality Assurance - Responsible for ensuring LCI quality standards are followed for assigned production lines.

  • The supervisor role is hands on which requires the leader to learn all production processes within their responsibility

  • Willing to be flexible with schedule in order to meet customer demands

  • Proactive in avoiding mistakes that should be anticipated rather than reactive

  • Use tape measure and any other tools, meters, etc. to insure adherence to quality standards and federal regulations

  • Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal directions

This role has supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. The expected work hours are 40+ hours per week. Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays as needed. The daily work is considered complete once daily orders are satisfied. Peak times may require longer workdays in order to meet customer demands.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Lean, 5S/6S certification preferred.

Ability to use hand tools.

Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Manufacturing/industry experience

  • Quality Assurance experience

  • Lean 5S certification preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred. Proven leadership experience in a similar industry preferred. Public speaking ability preferred. Strong organization and time management skills preferred.
