Vivint Associate Industrial Designer in Lehi, Utah
Vivint Smart Home, a leading smart home technology provider, is looking for a highly motivated, user focused Industrial Designer with the ability to collaborate on all phases of the design process. You will be required to work both individually and on a team, reporting to a Lead Designer.

Support all phases of the design process across multiple product categories.
Research “Smart Home” and alternative markets to understand competition, trends (CMF), and technology.
Participate in user observation, interviews, testing and help synthesize information into insights.
Translate insights into solutions that show breadth and depth of thought.
Create storyboards to help communicate product experiences that blend the digital with the physical.
Positively contribute in design reviews and other team-wide design efforts.
Collaborate with product management and engineering to maintain design intent.
Explore consistent application of Vivint Product Design Language on current and future products.
0-2 years of experience in industrial design (corporate and/or consulting).
Loves sketching and it shows (digital and physical; product and people).
Knowledge of human-centered design principles.
Hands on! Ability to create quick mock ups in multiple mediums for feedback from design team and users.
Working knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering software. (SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias, Sketchup, Keyshot).
Fluency in 2D design tools (e.g. Procreate, Autodesk Sketchbook, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop)
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
Self-motivated to complete week over week actions and deliverables.

- This job operates in both a professional office environment and a laboratory/workshop environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones, as well as 3D printers, desktop milling machines, basic woodworking power tools, a paint booth, and other various model making tools.
