What will you do?

Our company seeks a Supervisor, Packaging, who will be responsible for the daily packaging and shipping of our finished BioProcess Containers and BioProcess Chambers to our internal locations and irradiation partners. This role will be responsible for the packaging and shipping of product from all Thermo Fisher Scientific locations in Logan, UT and a soon to open site in Ogden, UT. This role requires attention to details, the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, the desire to provide hands on coaching and mentoring of staff, ability to communicate both verbally and written, and collaborate with cross-functional groups.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University (preferred)

What will you do?

Responsibilities

  • Oversees approximately 20-25 employees working on multiple boxing lines. Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility. Communicates and trains employees on their duties, responsibilities, and company policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates appropriate, clear, and effective inclusive/diversity behavior including written and oral communications, in all interpersonal interactions, and by building relationships that support day to day work and projects.

  • Monitors the overall working experience of team members (e.g., 1:1 meetings) and responsively honors commitments to build the trust that supports retention.

  • Proactively keeps management informed of progress and issues.

  • Continuously learns as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for each process within your area. Able to speak confidently to all internal and external stakeholders about the processes. Investigates process deviations, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions.

  • Measures team, individual, and process performance. Sets goals and holds team, individuals, and self-accountable for all actions.

  • Fosters employees' education and personal development. Provides opportunities for growth and exposure. Trains, motivates, and encourages colleagues to grow the workforce.

  • Oversees daily scheduling of all packaging operations and provides work direction across multiple production areas. Identifies, measures, and improves critical metrics.

  • Communicates performance expectations and holds employees accountable through application of the Performance Management and Development process. Consistently applies all company and site policies and procedures.

  • Ensures that the Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) are current and accurately portray what is being performed on the packaging floor. Ensure that the technicians know, understand, and follow these instructions. Act as a role model leader.

  • Must be able to work weekday and weekend overtime.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
