How will you make an impact?
Under the direction of the engineering manager, the position will respond to design requests with accuracy and timeliness using AutoCAD. The position will also train and mentor drafters and provide technical support as needed. Develop associated documentation to create approval packets for customers. Promote process improvements, best design practices, and maintain AutoCAD blocks and templates. The engineer will also be required to keep detailed histories of customer approved drawings. Assist manager in collecting and reporting team metrics. This position will also work on projects as assigned by the manager.
What will you do?
Create and revise simple to complex chambers and assemblies according to redlines and/or product brief, with an advanced understanding of the various product families and their associated design requirements. Specialize in one or more product families.
Perform drawing checks and respond to technical inquiries.
Effectively utilize PDM Enterprise (electronic file management system) for drawing access and storage maintaining accurate drawing versions and histories
Leverage search capabilities in PDM to analyze design formats, types, and patterns
Provide back up support for PDM administration with a strong understanding of workflows, permissions, and approvals.
Utilize AutoCAD Mechanical in creating product drawings, blocks, templates, load custom menus, and pallets. Troubleshoot AutoCad issues as needed
Perform advance searches in MasterControl and provide back up support for specification approval.
Perform final drawing reviews prior to release for production
Create associated specification, item master, BOM, routing, ECO, and launch tasks in Master Control.
Effectively communicate with team members and cross-functional areas of the business
Proactively participate in the companies continuous improvement programs proposing ideas initiating positive change

How will you get here?
Education
High School Diploma and 4 years drafting experience, or 2 years drafting experience and 2 years bioprocess container manufacturing experience
Associate degree, Technical Drafting degree, and 2 years of drafting experience
Experience
Demonstrates the following:
Proficient use of AutoCAD in completing complex designs
Extensive knowledge of common assembly components and processes or equivalent knowledge of manufacturing assembly processes and component attributes
Able to present product designs in clear, organized formats
Proficiency in Microsoft and other office application software
Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet customer needs internal and external
Seeks appropriate information and uses appropriate tools prior to recommending a course of action
Organizational and communication skills
Ability to work as a team, collaborate with colleagues, and share the workload
Ability to check their own and others drawings for accuracy and compliance with customer requirements
Support 24hr/7day a week global operation
