No Shift 1 Relocation Yes Overview Triumph Gear Systems designs and develops precision Gear Systems including Airframe and Engine Mounted Auxiliary Drive Units, Aerospace Actuators, Accessory Gearboxes, Power Generation Gearboxes, Winch Drives and Propeller Drives. The Senior Design Engineer position requires expertise and experience in the design of rotating equipment including bearing analysis, spur, helical and bevel gear design and analysis (AGMA)(CAGE)(ISO), aluminum, magnesium, steel castings and lubrication and cooling systems. The Senior Design Engineer position also requires expertise in supervising and managing an engineering team to plan and deliver the system design on time, to budget and ensure all governing requirements are met. The Senior Design Engineer is expected to have high proficiency and experience with Creo or CATIA with experience in MASTA or ROMAX regarded as a plus. The Senior Design Engineer must have demonstrated experience in the management of mechanical system design, integration and development. Analytical knowledge of Reliability, FMECA, Ansys, Nastran, RCCA and Six Sigma are also key to the position. Familiarity with formal Qualification Standards such as DO160, MIL-STD-810 and-or EUROCAE ED-14 is desirable. Job function requires timely preparation of all associated engineering documentation including but not limited to Project Plans, Test Plans, Project deliverable documents and Engineering Changes. The ideal candidate would have broad technical knowledge of aircraft systems and awareness of current aircraft developments and technologies. The ideal candidate would also have a comprehensive knowledge and experience in Aerospace Manufacturing Processes and Methods. The successful applicant will have strong electromechanical interface and application knowledge with demonstrated experience in meeting customer schedules, manufacturability and cost goal expectations. This person must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain flexibility to take on tasks outside their direct responsibility. Proven technical innovation and effective project management skills are desirable. Responsibilities University degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant design experience (Aircraft Systems Engineering). Proficiency in design and analytical software tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint. High proficiency in written and verbal communication. Ideally 10 plus years' experience in an aerospace gear system, transmission or actuation related industry. Experience in Advanced Gear System Design Software such as MASTA and ROMAX is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage and support Project Engineering and Project Schedules. Qualifications B.S. Mechanical Engineering from accredited college Must have experience designing gears and bearings. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint Proficiency in written and verbal communication 8 years experience in gear industry: aerospace,& powershift transmissions a must! Demonstrated ability to manage and support Project Engineering and Project Schedules Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative. Demonstrated ability in effectively managing a team of Engineers. Confidence and ability to present to an audience. An ability to manage multiple, complex tasks and the drive to follow tasks through to a successful outcome.
