Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Communications Staff Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The selected candidate will lead the technical solution for the GBSD EMD Command & Launch Communications sub-IPT. Responsible for oversight and technical direction to all disciplines within the Communications organization. Understand and resolve technical issues associated with Communication analysis and products. Specific areas of experience and knowledge include communication design and development, tests radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. Including antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers. Coordinates with internal & external customers to ensure all technical elements are addressed and provided to the customer in compliance specifications and requirements.
Candidate will be able to perform the following essential functions:
Provide technical guidance over RF hardware and software product development
Coordinate multiple disciplines to balance requirements
Be responsible for the technical oversight and completeness of products produced by the Communications team members and functions.
Ensure Communications organization has the analytical tools and resources required for their jobs
Be the single point of accountability in addressing the technical aspects, development, and delivery for all assigned Communications products and analyses
Serve as primary technical POC for the Command and Launch Communications team within Northrop Grumman and Government counterparts as required

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 14 Years of related experience with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.
Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher granted within the last 5 ½ years
Must have the ability to obtain SAP/SAR access
Experience with communication systems
Experience leading a complex development program in a technical role
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active Top Secret security clearance granted within the last 5 ½ years
Experience working in an MBSE environment
