Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager, Structural Engineering. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space System team supporting the Air Force's Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program on the System Test Team. This position is primarily located in Roy, UT.
Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Active US DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
Minimum 7 years of related Mechanical, Structural, Stress, or Structural Dynamics Engineering experience
Minimum 3 years of experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in any of the following solvers: Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS or similar
Bachelor's degree; 5 years' experience with a related Master's degree; or 3 years' with a PhD
1 year of experience managing a structural analysis team
Minimum 10 years of related Mechanical, Structural, Stress, or Structural Dynamics Engineering experience with a bachelor's degree
Experience developing missile or launch vehicle structural loads
Implicit or explicit dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience analyzing dynamic environments: random vibration, sinusoidal vibration, and shock
