Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal/Principal Test Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program n the area of Infrastructure. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You'll Get To Do: • Develop and publish detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing.

• Provide laboratory support for integration testing.

• Support and host test planning working groups.

• Interface with test article design and analysis teams at our team mates and major suppliers to define test configuration and data requirements.

• Contribute to test development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.

• Conduct test readiness reviews, and pre/posttest briefings.

• Provide mission control room support and make real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness as appropriate.

• Conduct and contribute to pre-flight and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution.

• Maintain metrics on status of testing and constraints

• Managing testing programs, resources, and lead technical community towards our goals

• Individual will serve as either a principal subject matter focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site team.

• Individual will work within a team environment

• Individual will be learning additional engineering discipline areas.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Test Engineer:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or other STEM discipline with 5 years experience; 3 years with a Masters of Science in STEM discipline; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be counted in lieu of a bachelor's of science degree.

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 5 years)

Basic Qualification for Senior Principal Test Engineer:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or STEM discipline with 9 years experience; 7 years with a Masters of Science in STEM discipline; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be counted in lieu of a bachelor's of science degree.

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 5 years)

Preferred Qualifications for Principal & Senior Principal Test Engineer :

Master's Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering

A current DoD Top Secret clearance with capability for SAP access

Experience working on Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs or projects

Knowledge of U.S. national testing assets available at Universities/ national labs/ government test sites

Knowledge of instrumentation needs for very high transient pressure related measurements

Experience with CPLM Configuration Management

Experience to blast and shock simulation methods

Experience with building codes and specs, especially military construction

In depth knowledge of or flight test experience, to include control room monitoring. Works well with others and enhances collaboration.

Travel is expected to be approximately 25%
