Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Mission Assurance Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
Role and Responsibilities:
Develop control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts
Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
Assignments are often self-initiated
Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior
Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product
Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs
Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors of Science degree, 12 Years with a Masters in Science; 9 Years with Ph; 0R 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance
Experience in developing and implementing Supplier Quality Assurance plans
Experience in Metric development for process health and performance monitoring
Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Excellent liaison between local personnel, suppliers, and customer workforce
Experience in evaluation, trace, and analysis of requirements
