Stryker Engineering Manager, Advanced Operations - MT in Salt Lake City, Utah

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to provide leadership for Manufacturing Transfer projects. Responsibilities will include providing mentorship to a team of engineers, providing strategic guidance for manufacturing transfer projects.
Advanced Operations is leading the creation of a global team dedicated to achieving excellence in Manufacturing Transfer (MT) This role will support our Manufacturing Transfer team being a Key Enabler of transformation delivering on “cost out” opportunities to become a global competitive advantage.
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Responsible for project, stakeholder and people management including the technical assessment of all assigned projects. Will successfully lead the team to deliver key programs or projects per associated quality, time and cost constraints.
Manages and communicates with senior stakeholders.
Drives functional excellence initiatives, high quality functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technical development
Prepare and deliver annual budgets (headcount, expense and capital) for final review and approval. Approval authority for personnel requisitions and capital expenditure requests.
Provide strategic direction and guides the team in complex or difficult situations, removes obstacles, assigns appropriate resources and interfaces with other functions to assist with issue resolution.
Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality staff
Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources
Responsible for the implementation, enforcement and compliance of all relevant quality, regulatory and safety standards.
Establish priorities imparting a sense of urgency and importance to effectively deliver new products per quality, cost and time constraints.
B.S. degree in engineering or applicable technical field (Mechanical or Materials engineering highly preferred). M. Sc. and/or MBA is an asset.
3-5 years of people management experience (project management experience may also be considered)
Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive or aerospace
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional global team environment
Work From Home: Occasional
Travel Percentage: 40%
