BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. Experienced Automation Manufacturing Engineer - Swing Shift in Salt Lake City, Utah
BioFire Diagnostics is looking to add an experienced Automation Manufacturing Engineering to our growing swing shift team! This Automation Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role as a member of a team that designs, implements, and supports high-volume manufacturing equipment. Key responsibilities for the role include:
Working with a design team and outside vendors to bring in, validate, and launch new equipment
Develop training and maintenance documentation
Develop validation documentation
Develop test cases and criteria
Develop and execute testing to define operational limits
Participate in equipment acceptance and validation testing
Partner with manufacturing support team to keep equipment operational
Investigate PLC code execution and events to troubleshoot
Work with maintenance technicians in doing hands-on troubleshooting of controls, mechanical, and electrical systems
Develop and implement solutions to improve machine performance, operational time, and quality with a larger project team
Support QE team investigations to find root causes and corrective actions for production failures
Assist in product inspection and dispositions
Work with automation design engineers and system architects on various projects
New designs
Design improvements
Process improvements
New process implementation
Work with support team, junior engineers, and other engineers to train in more complex systems to improve overall team support
Reporting
Adhoc reporting on failures and equipment performance
Work with data science team to develop regular reporting tools
Develop informational dashboards to provide support teams with more valuable information

Qualifications
Training and Education: B.S. or higher in Engineering or related field.
Experience: 5 years of experience in automation related engineering role, including performance consistent with said experience.

Physical Requirements: Able to safely lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform duties wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Ability to perceive and distinguish colors.
