The person in this position will work with Barr's clients to identify, scope, and manage environmental review, permitting, and compliance projects, provide technical advice and support, help build and maintain client relationships and pursue business development opportunities for permitting services and NEPA analysis with a number of sectors, primarily with mining and energy-sector clients. We expect that this position can be served from one of a number of Barr's offices, fulfillment of the positon responsibilities will require periodic travel to other locations.This person will work frequently with federal, state, local government officials, non-governmental organizations and regulatory staff; resource managers; other industry representatives; technical and information resource experts; and interested and concerned citizens. They will also be responsible for business development activities within the mining and energy industries, including developing relationships with key clients, seeking opportunities to assist these clients with permitting projects, and preparing proposals for such work.This person will also work with multidiscipline Barr project teams to manage and support the development of environmental review documents and permit applications. Work tasks may also include managing archaeological-historical reviews and surveys; managing threatened and endangered species reviews and surveys; managing wetland delineations, inventories, and functional assessments; developing regulatory strategies with clients; and consulting and negotiating with regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, or related field* 15 years of experience directly related to environmental review and permitting projects within the mining and energy-sectors* Proven ability to lead, organize and direct multi-discipline teams* Project and team management, and business development experience* Knowledge of and experience with NEPA regulations and processes* Knowledge of and familiarity with federal...
