Are you a proven leader with strong communication skills who can effectively address Quality issues and drive major Quality improvement projects with cross functional teams? We are seeking a Quality Control Manager that will assess established processes as well as work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain to create new processes to enhance the QC function.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

You are responsible for ensuring the quality of Cover-Pools, Caretaker, Waterfalls, and Grand Effects products through strategic design and implementation of Quality Control methodologies and practices. You will work with internal Supply Chain and Suppliers to continuously improve performance through driving and facilitating problem solving, implementing process controls, promoting risk mitigation, and assisting in development of Quality Assurance plans.

This position requires communication and leadership skills to address significant Quality issues and drive major Quality improvement projects with cross functional teams across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain. In this role, you will:

  • Formulate and maintain Quality Control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.

  • Interpret and execute Quality Control philosophy to key personnel in the organization.

  • Drive Quality initiatives and performance through effective problem solving and other QC best practices.

  • Manage inspection teams measuring critical components to standard requirements.

  • Oversee management of Material Review Board - Disposition of non-conforming material, establishing and executing recovery plans.

  • Manage documentation and reporting of internal and external non-conformance reports.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain peers to create, manage and implement Quality changes and Process Improvements.

  • Develop and improve internal detection and measurement processes and systems.

  • Manage incoming workload of First Article Inspections.

  • Ownership of key quality metrics, such as first pass yield, field defect rate, quality plan engagement/effectiveness, and corrective and preventive action time to closure.

  • Manage development and implementation of visual standard work such as quality alerts and work instructions.

  • Assist with Internal Process Audits, ensuring compliance and development of improvement plans where deficiencies are documented.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams during new product introduction using APQP methodology or similar NPI/NPD models.

  • Provide technical expertise to Customers / Field Service in solving technical problems.

  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

  • Assist in investigation of customer complaints regarding field quality concerns.

    WHAT WE SEEK

  • 2 + years in a management /leadership capacity overseeing a QC team

  • 5 + years in a Manufacturing and/or Quality team.

  • Experience with 8D (RCCA) and/or AIAG CQI-20 Effective Problem Solving models.

  • Experience using AIAG tools and concepts (Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, Layered Process Audits, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of various industry practices (Electronics, Injection Molding, Metal Processing, Assembly, etc.).

  • Experience using a variety of test equipment including, but not limited to, voltage, power, combustion and temperature-measuring equipment.

  • Familiarity with ASME Section IV Requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Engineering or similar Technical Degree.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Engineer preferred.
