Medifast, Inc. UX Product Designer in Salt Lake City, Utah
The UX Product Designer will support the Digital Products team on our suite of products (web and native apps that support our Coaches and Clients) through research and design. This individual will leverage various UX design and research methodologies to design experiences with purpose that help users achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for design, continually learning and growing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as an attention to detail. The candidate will support multiple related products across mediums (web/iOS/Android) with the support of the UX team.
Take on projects that support the UX Design team goals in efforts across the company
Advocate for design solutions, highlighting inputs that influenced the decisions including business and user goals, demographic and usage data, and research findings
Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle
Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details
Support Product Managers to assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics
Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback
3+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 5+ years equivalent professional experience
A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
Be a good communicator all around, who can present their ideas to stakeholders and executives
Be able to engage in constructive dialogue based on the merit of the design, both giving and receiving; no egos need to be involved
Continued education and research into UX trends and current design strategy and technologies (preferred that this is a natural part of who you are)
Take responsibility for your own work, knowing that you'll be supported
Proficiency in best practices for web/iOS/Android information architecture and design, as you could design for any
Contribute to the group’s shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies
Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
Know when to collaborate with other members of your team
Experience working in an Agile environment
Ability to work in a startup environment
Experience designing and shipping products for mobile and desktop
Proficient with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, etc.
