Aerotek Manufacturing Engineer in Sandy, Utah
Manufacturing engineer will have various projects to work on at once, with different projects at different phases of the production cycle. Must be able to balance low production and high production runs. They will work as a liaison between the client and the internal design team. Projects will come in, in a variety of formats – concepts to test for manufacturing to full cad files to run production on. As the engineer grows in this role, they will assist with quoting the overall cost, validate design for manufacturing, create work instructions, and partner with the quality team to ensure documentation gets completed in ISO 13485 and placed into the final “file” for the product. They will run time studies and look at ways to reduce cost, reduce material, and improve time through continuous improvement/six sigma.
There is no direct reports in this role, however they will be in clean room with assemblers and technicians often and should be able to help instruct and educate those teammates on the process. This role will work heavily within the manufacturing process of plastics via extrusions and injection molding.

Use of solidworks for checking and validating designs for manufacturing, tooling and fixtures
experience in a role working with prototyping (quick turn around)

Experience with cost cutting and time studies (identify issues, create solutions)
-Can read a SOW and understand the set of responsibilities that come with building that product (watching through design -> ordering -> manufacturing -> documenting)
BEST VS AVERAGE
Extrusion and Injection molding experience (plastics manufacturing)
Experience working in a clean room
specifically worked at a catheter manufacturer (braiding and coiling)
Knowledge of how to use machinery (better understanding of what the machinist are doing)
-quoting material cost
Prior work for a contract manufacturer to understand how each project can vary and how to pivot to support
Candidate who wants to work with a collaborative team and wants to teach/train others. Will be working with assemblers and techs and ideally this role will help them understand the process
DQ - Someone outside of the med device industry. Must have an internship or work experience with in ISO13485
1ST DAY EXP - Work with the team to identify improvement areas within Time to manufacture, cost cutting, first time quality
